Senior UX/UI Designer,
Since 2020, I have been part of a talented team creating digital twin Virtual Reality experiences. These include the MC-12w Virtual Trainer, EC-130 Compass Call Virtual Trainer, and the RC-135 Rivet Joint Virtual Trainer. My role was to guide and direct what the UI would look like - and what the UX would feel like. Here are some of my solutions:
RC-135 Rivet Joint Virtual Trainer
The RC-135 serves as a PC/VR Virtual Trainer, fulfilling roles in aircraft familiarization and maintenance training. It marked my initial foray into multiplayer VR experiences, necessitating adept handling of PC and VR interfaces, alongside the development of a comprehensive render target viewer interface enabling PC hosts to observe VR clients.
Role:
Senior UI Art/2d Director, UX Design.
MC-12w Virtual Trainer
The MC-12w Virtual Trainer is a digital twin Virtual Reality aircraft familiarization tool. It supported both PC and VR platforms and required UI/UX solutions for both.
Role:
Senior UI Art/2d Director, UX Design.
Virtual Intercept Reconstruction Tool (VIRT)
VIRT is a Immersive Virtual Trainer that teaches pilots how to visually identify enemy aircraft (red weapon systems). The application also had a PC based scenario editor which instructors could create unique encounters for student pilots.
Role:
Senior UI Art/2d Director, UX design, Logo design.
Foreign Language Immersive Training Experience (FLITE)
FLITE is a first-person immersive language experience for fluent speakers of various languages. It features rich interactable environments with several varieties of user initiated quizzes. The design struggle was to keep the User Interface intuitive, legible and yet - unobtrusive. This was one of the most challenging projects I’ve worked on.
